Chinese Softball Assoc. and fashion institute ink deal to develop new line of national team softball apparel

The Chinese Softball Association will work along with the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology to develop modern and professional softball clothing.

The Chinese Softball Association (CSA) and the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT) signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly develop softball apparel in the country. The two entities agreed to establish a softball apparel design team to achieve innovative development.

The two parties will establish a professional softball apparel design team to develop and research a distinctive softball line for the Chinese national softball team. The purpose, according to the national governing body, is to enrich the softball culture, promote the spirit of Chinese women’s softball, further strengthen the international image of the Chinese National Softball Team brand, and promote a healthy and active lifestyle towards people.

The BIFT was the first public fashion university to be established (1959) in China. The institute has undertaken the development of the clothing design for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and Paralympics and other top sports events. It is currently actively serving the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics for the Chinese delegations and Olympic Committee staff.

At the signing ceremony, CSA President Yang Xu highlighted the development of softball and gave the background of the bilateral strategic cooperation.
