CPBL welcomes all fans to stadiums, removes 2000 maximum limit as Taiwan hits another milestone

The league became the first pro organization to open its season in April, and followed the breakthrough with allowing 1,000 fans on 8 May and up to 2,000 on 15 May.

TAIPEI -- Sunday, 7 June, marked another milestone for the already historic 2020 season in Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). The games Chinatrust Brothers-UniLions and Fubon Guardians-Rakuten Monkeys were the first of the year in which there was no crowd size restriction, as CPBL announced that the league had lifted its 2,000 maximum limit.

The Chinatrust Brothers outscored the UniLions, 14-3.
The Fubon Guardians defeated the Rakuten Monkeys, 9-6.

Monday is an off day for the CPBL

The CPBL began its season in April, the first professional league in the world, behind closed doors. The league then allowed 1,000 fans from 8 May and 2,000 from 15 May.

The Rakuten Monkeys are currently leading with 19 wins and 12 losses. The Chinatrust Brothers follow with a 19-15 record. The Fubon Guardians are 15-16 and the UniLions are in fourth place with a 13-23 record.
