CPBL's Uni-President Lions sign former MLB catcher Wilin Rosario

The 32-year-old has also played in the NPB, KBO and LMB leagues.

Catcher and first baseman Wilin Rosario has signed with the Uni-President Lions of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL).

From 2011 to 2015, the 32-year old Dominican appeared in 447 games for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB), posting a .273 batting average with 71 home runs and 241 runs batted in (RBIs). During his MLB time, he earned the nickname Baby Bull.

He went on to hit 70 home runs in two seasons (2016, 2017) for the Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) league.

He spent the 2018 season with the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), posting a .242 batting average and hitting eight home runs in 75 games.

Rosario returned to the US for the 2019 season and played 105 games for the Minnesota Twins Triple-A affiliate, posting a .300 batting average with 20 home runs and 91 RBIs.

After sitting out for the 2020 season, he spent part of the 2021 season with the Pericos de Puebla of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB).

After playing for the Aguilas Cibaenas of the Dominican Winter League, Rosario lately featured on the Gigantes del Cibao roster.
