Czech National Baseball Team opens Spring Training in Spain

Manager Mike Griffin selected 20 players for the camp. The Czechs will play a series of warm-up games against the Tenerife Marlins of the Spanish Baseball League.

The Czech Republic National Baseball Team is in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, in the Spanish Canary Islands, as the squad this week opened their 2021 Spring Training.

Manager Mike Griffin selected 20 players for the national team camp and friendlies:

PITCHERS (11): Bokaj, Filip Capka, Duffek, Ercoli, Hlouch, Hrbek, Nebenfuehr, Novak, Satoria, Vavrusa, Vecerka
CATCHERS (2) Cech, Drapela
INFIELDERS (5) Cervinka, Chroust, Hajtmar, Kubica, Zyma
OUTFIELDERS (5) Hajtmar, Hejma, Malik, Mostek, Muzik

Griffin's coaching staff includes third base coach Petr Baroch, first base coach Hynek Capka, pitching coaches Corey Lee and John Hussey, and athletic trainer Joe Truesdale.

Czech Republic will play a series of warm-up games against the Tenerife Marlins of the Spanish Baseball League.

Czech Republic will compete in the XXXVI European Baseball Championship in the Italian northwestern Region of Piedmont from 12 to 19 September.
