Czech Republic wins U-15 European Baseball Championship 2021
The European Champions and the runner-up France have qualified for the VI WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup.
The Czech Republic was proclaimed the winner of the U-15 European Baseball Championship, after the final with France was called due to bad weather. The two National Teams were tied 4-4 in the fifth, when the stoppage was made.
The Czechs earned the title thanks to their 3-1 overall record. France had a 2-2 overall record.
The Czech Republic outscored the Netherlands, 10-0, in the semifinal, while France beat Italy, 9-7.
The Dutch won the third place game, 5-3.
Defending champions Germany finished fifth. They had qualified for the fifth WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup together with runner-up Italy. The tournament, originally scheduled in 2020, was postponed to 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. A final decision on the rescheduling of the event is still under review.
