Former International Softball Fed President Dale McMann named chair of WBSC Softball Hall of Fame Commission

McMann also served as the WBSC Softball Division Chairman from 2013 to 2017 and played a pivotal role in the merger of the international baseball and softball federations into the WBSC.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has appointed former International Softball Federation (ISF) President Dale McMann as the new Chair of the WBSC Softball Hall of Fame Commission. The WBSC Softball Hall of Fame serves to honour its members, athletes, coaches, umpires and administrators who have contributed to the growth and development of the game worldwide.

Voting is done at the WBSC Congress, which is held every two years. There are currently 249 members in the WBSC Softball Hall of Fame, representing 38 countries and territories.

McMann’s involvement in sport is extensive. He served as president of Softball British Columbia between 1986 and 1990 and Softball Canada from 1990 to 2001. He first joined the International Softball Federation (ISF) in 1993 and served as North American vice-president of the federation until 2009, when he was elected as first vice-president. McMann was appointed president of the ISF in 2013, served from 2013 to 2017 and a was at the helm during the critical years of the merger of the international baseball and softball federations. He was part of WBSC's official delegation that presented/pitched baseball and softball to Tokyo 2020 Olympic organisers.

McMann was inducted into de WBSC Softball Hall of Fame in 2005.

During the 2019 WBSC Congress, he was awarded the WBSC Order of the Golden Diamond for his commitment and work to develop the ideals of baseball/softball and his outstanding merits in favour of the widening of the horizons and innovation and research within our sport. He was the first recipient of this honour.
