SEOUL — The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) yesterday announced that Descente Korea has been named the official apparel and uniform sponsor for the world No. 8 South Korean National Team in the upcoming 2015 WBSC Premier12, taking place from 8-21 November in Japan and Taiwan.

Descente Korea, specialists in elite, performance-based athletic apparel, continues its strategy to partner with South Korea’s National Team in international baseball competitions to expand and grow its brand.

The 2015 WBSC Premier12 flagship will be the top international baseball event of the year and feature head-to-head action among the professional National Teams from the Top 12 countries in the WBSC Baseball World Rankings.

Descente Korea also outfitted South Korea’s U-18 National Team that finished third in the world, taking the bronze medal at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Osaka earlier this month.

South Korea will be pushing to capture the WBSC Premier12 trophy. Back in May, South Korea’s newly appointed manager Kim In-sik said:

“We will look to finish this global baseball battle with the Premier12 top prize in our hands. The National Baseball Team is a source of pride for our entire country — we take it very seriously and need to honour this responsibility. KBO takes great pride in having players from our league representing the Korean National Team.”

South Korea will take on rival Japan to open the WBSC Premier12 on 8 November at the 40,000-seat Sapporo Dome. It will be the first time in six years that the professional National Teams of Samurai Japan and South Korea collide.

South Korea is in Group B, alongside No. 1 Japan, No. 2 United States, No. 6 Dominican Republic, No. 10 Venezuela and No. 12 Mexico.
