Dominican Republic supports baseball development in Haiti

HAITI-A joint venture with the Dominican Republic sport authorities aims to develop baseball in Haiti. An inaugural event is set to happen in July

The Dominican Republic will support a program to develop baseball in neighbour country Haiti. The website Haiti Libre reported on a metting between a delegation led by Seymour Coffy, Chairman of the International Baseball Academy, for Haity, and a dominican delegation led by National Olympic Commitee President Luis Mejía Oviedo. The Ambassador of Haiti to the Dominican Republic Idalbert Pierre Jean promised to “fully support” the initiative.

“We are very satisfied with the support we were given” commented Coffy.
A starting event for the program is scheduled to take place in July in the cities of Dajabon (Dominican Republic) and Ouanaminthe (Haiti).
