With less than 20 days to go, the expectation for the WBSC Premier12 is rising all around the planet. On Monday, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Mexico, Ms Margriet Leemhuis, welcomed the Dutch team to the country, and immediately after that challenged the US Embassy in Mexico to a singular bet.
“I’ll bet you a Dutch cheese @USAmbMex, we’ll win!”
She didn’t have to wait too long for an answer. Just 13 minutes later, the United States Ambassador to Mexico Mr Christopher Lambau replied:
At the inaugural WBSC Premier12 in 2015, USA and the Netherlands faced off in Quarter-Finals when USA knocked out the Orange team by a score of 6-1.
So, dutch cheese or chocolate chip cookies? We’ll know the answer on 2 November, when Europe’s top-ranked country and the top-ranked nation from the Americas officially open the WBSC Premier12 at Estadio Charros de Jalisco in Mexico.
