Eight nations get ready for Chiba at USA Softball International Cup

Eight of the national teams playing in Irvine are preparing to compete in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship to be staged in Chiba, Japan, from 2-12 August

The USA Softball International Cup is underway in Irvine, California, with the participation of 11 nations. The USA Softball annual Women’s competition is hosted at the Bill Barber Park, home of the WBSC Junior Women’s Softball World Championship 2019.

Eight of the national teams playing in Irvine are preparing to compete in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship to be staged in Chiba, Japan, from 2-12 August, including USA (two teams), Japan, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Puerto Rico, Mexico, China and Venezuela. Beasides, Czech Republic, Peru and Colombia are also playing the USA Softball International Cup.

The WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship will serve as the first qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 softball competition. The top nation in Chiba (not named Japan) will earn a berth in the next Summer Olympic Games.
