Eight teams to compete at Cali 2021 Junior Pan Am Games baseball event

The U-23 National Teams of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua and Venezuela will battle for gold in the first-ever Junior Pan Am Games.

The baseball schedule of the Cali 2021 Junior Pan American Games was announced this past weekend, with eight participating nations divided into two groups. World No. 5 Mexico, No. 6 Dominican Republic, No. 10 Venezuela, No. 11 Cuba, No. 14 Nicaragua, No. 15 Colombia, No. 21 Brazil and No. 25 Argentina will battle for gold in the first-ever Junior Pan Am Games.

In Group A, host Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Argentina will play, while in Group B will be Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua and Brazil.

The teams will play a single round robin in the group stage, from 26-29 November, with the top two advancing to the semi finals. The gold medal game is scheduled for 2 December at 7:30 p.m. local time, with the bronze medal game happening at 2:30 p.m. the same day.

The gold medal winning team in Cali 2021 will qualify for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, Nicaragua and Dominican Republic participated in the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup in Mexico. Venezuela took the world championship title after winning 4-0 against host Mexico. Colombia completed the podium, after a 5-3 win over Cuba.
