The Finnish Baseball and Softball Federation inducted two new members -- some of the country's best ever baseball players -- to its Hall of Fame.
Harri Malmsten was one of the most dominant players of the 1980s. He was a gifted athlete and an all-around player who covered different positions including catcher, third baseman and relief pitcher. Malmsten won seven Finnish Baseball Championships while playing for four different teams, all based in the capital city Helsinki: the Hawks, Wranglers, Puumat and Devils.
Antero Salo was a slugging outfielder who won the Finnish National Championship four times. He started his career with the Kerava Sluggers but also played for Puumat and the Devils.
Malmsten and Salo are members number three and four of the Finnish Hall of Fame. Member number one is newly elected President Jukka Ropponen, a former star pitcher. Member number two is Clarence Taylor, who was the first National Team manager.
