LAKE BUENA VISTA (FL), USA – The Liga Mexicana de Beisbol (LMB) named the first-ever female in the league’s history, Toros de Tijuana Deputy Executive President Blanca Uribe, as Executive of the Year.

The Toros won their first-ever LMB championship in 2017.

Uribe worked to raise awareness and build a broader connection between the club and the community, emphasizing the key roles and responsibilities a professional sports team and its players must have on and off the field.

LMB President Javier Salinas has made social responsibility and leveraging women’s contributions/inclusion as one of the league’s guiding principles.

LMB recently made another historic announcement that 2018 will see the league’s first-ever female umpire.
