The Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) announced the signing of Pablo Sandoval.

Sandoval has enjoyed a successful 2021-22 campaign so far. He appeared in 69 games for the Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series Champions Atlanta Braves and helped the Navegantes de Magallanes win the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League title.

Nicknamed The Panda, Sandoval was born in 1986 in Puerto Cabello, Venezuela. The corner infielder signed for the San Francisco Giants of MLB as a 16-year old. He made his MLB debut in 2008 and contributed to three World Series titles (2010, 2012, when he earned MVP honours, and 2014).

He signed a five-year and US$ 90 million contract with the Boston Red Sox before the 2015 season but was released during the third year of the deal. He went back to the Giants on a minor league deal three days later.

Sandoval represented World No. 6 Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic 2013.

LMB season opens on 21 April.
