GameTime Classics | Episode 41: USA, Australia fight hard at 2019 WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup
The two National Teams opened the Super Round sharing a 1-1 record. The pitching duel also featured a key on-field video review by the umpires.
On 5 September 2019, USA and Australia opened their Super Round of the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Gijang, Korea. Both teams entered the contest with a 1-1 record, making the game pivotal for advancing to the medal round.
Maxwell Rajcic took the mound for the USA, while Australia handed the ball to Liam McCallum. The starters would be the main actors in this good-old-fashioned pitching duel. Panama's Rene Gonzalez was the chief umpire and called 'play ball'.
The game would also see an on-field video replay review by the umpiring crew.
