Guatemala Softball Federation inaugurates Athlete Service Center

It has been named after Andy Sherman, the Guatemalan National Softball Team former head coach who was inducted into the WBSC Softball Hall of Fame in 2017 and who donated the building for the Athlete Service Center.

The Guatemala Softball Federation (Asociación Deportiva Nacional de Softbol de Guatemala - ASOSOFT) inaugurated the Athlete Service Center (Centro de Atencion al deportista - CAD) Andy Sheerman, a building with all the services needed for the integral development of athletes and their community.

The CAD - named after Guatemala’s National Softball Team former head coach Andy Sherman - houses a new gym, with cardio, strength and fitness equipment, and a technical area with qualified professionals in nutrition, physiotherapy and psychology, to help maximise athlete performance.

Sherman, who was inducted into the WBSC Softball Hall of Fame in 2017, donated the building for the CAD.

Guatemala is ranked No. 13 the WBSC Men’s Softball World Rankings, after a historic sixth place in the WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup 2020; and No. 27 in the women’s list.
