The Hoboken Pioneers topped the Brasschaat Braves in the 2021 Belgian Baseball Series to earn the title of Belgian national champions. The Pioneers swept the best-of-three series, while both clubs will play in European international baseball next year.
After a delayed start of the season, Belgium's top league included three rounds in the regular season (instead of the four originally scheduled), and continued with the postseason in October.
The Pioneer needed a tie-break game at the end of the regular season against the Borgerhout Squirrels to decide the second team in the final series. However, they dominated both games in the finals.
On Saturday, 23 October, the Pioneers won the series opener, 12-1. The next day, in front of a full house in Hoboken, the Pioneers scored a 15-5 knockout against the Braves, to celebrate the national title at home.
