Host Czech Republic announces 21-man preliminary roster for WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship

The 7th ranked nation in the world named 21 players to face the global tournament, the first-ever to be held in European soil.

Host Czech Republic announced its preliminary roster for the XVI WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship, scheduled to be played from 13-23 June, 2019, in Prague and Havlickuv Brod. The 7th ranked nation in the world named 21 players to face the global tournament, the first-ever to be held in European soil.

See the complete roster at Czech Softball Association (CSA) website.

With the support of their fans, Czech Republic will try to make the playoffs for the third time in history (2004 and 2015), and finish in the top five for the first time ever (in South Africa 2000 the European team finished sixth, under a single page playoff format -four teams made the playoffs-).

Last year the Czech National Team finished fourth place at the Intercontinental Cup, held in Prague; and clinched their fourth consecutive European Championship.

As a promotional activation campaign, CSA has begun a countdown introducing the members of the team, using their uniform numbers to announce the number of days remaining to the first pitch of the World Championship.
