Japan, Chinese Taipei qualify for WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup

Chinese Taipei won an eight-inning drama against Korea, Japan defeated China in five innings. The two National Teams join Germany and Italy, that qualified out of the European Championship earlier this Summer

Shenzen, CHINA– Japan, Chinese Taipei qualified for the final of the U-15 Asia Baseball Championship. Both National Teams will thus advance to the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2020.

Japan, Chinese Taipei will now join the two other Nations that already qualified: Germany and Italy.

Chinese Taipei advanced to the final with a 2-0 win after an eight-inning drama against Korea.
Meng Chi Lin and Pao Lo Huang combined a no-hitter, allowing Korea only two walks. Meng went seven innings and struck out five. Pao pitched one inning and struck out two. Catcher Tung Han Lu provided the two-RBI double that won the game.

Japan advanced with a 10-0 win against China in five innings. Japan broke the score open with a four-run third at-bat.

The final was rained out and Japan was proclaimed the Asia U-15 Champion because of previous results in the tournament.

Korea defeated China, 7-2, in the third-place game and earned the bronze medal.
