Japan donates equipment to Egypt to support global baseball/softball development, friendly ties

The Egyptian Baseball and Softball Federation hosted JICA and the personnel of the Japanese Embassy at the Greater Cairo Regional Baseball5 finals.

Japan, one of the superpowers in the baseball and softball world, continues efforts to help grow the game internationally with the Egyptian Baseball and Softball Federation (EBSF) the latest to receive a donation from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The equipment and gear were presented during a ceremony on Friday, 18 December, to the EBSF Supervisor Ibrahim AL SHAREEF.

YAMAZAKI Hajime, JICA Deputy Director, praised the role of the EBSF in developing baseball/softball in Egypt, and said he is looking forward to seeing Egypt perform on the regional and international stage.

EBSF President Reda Mahmoud FARGHALY hosted the representatives of JICA and the personnel of the Japanese Embassy at the finals of the Greater Cairo Baseball5 Regional Championship.

JICA has over the years made significant contributions to the growth of game, including the construction of baseball/softball fields around the world.
