Japan and Chinese Taipei will compete in Group B, while Korea and Hong Kong-China will join Group A at the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup later this year. The tournament can be watched on the WBSC's OTT Channel GameTime, with WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup viewing options now released.

World No. 1 Japan defeated No. 2 Chinese Taipei, 8-3, in the final to win the third Women's Baseball Asia Cup.

Madonna Japan's lineup combined 12 hits, with second base Haruna Tadano going 2-for-3 with one RBI and rightfielder Miwa Naraoka contributing with two RBIs. Japan scored twice in their second and third at-bats against starter Chao-Chi Lai and didn't need to look back. Akino Tanaka allowed three hits over five innings and earned the win.

No. 10 Korea beat the hosts and No. 11 Hong Kong-China in the bronze-medal game, 14-4.

FINAL STANDINGS

Japan (Asia 1) and Chinese Taipei (Asia 2) will compete in the IX WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group B from 13 to 17 September in Miyoshi City, Japan, and face World No. 5 Venezuela, No. 7 Cuba, No. 9 Puerto Rico and No. 16 France.

Korea (Asia 3) and Hong Kong-China (Asia 4) will join No. No. 3 Canada, No. 4 USA, No. 8 Australia and No. 12 Mexico in Group A, scheduled from 8 to 13 August in Thunder Bay, Canada.
