Kostis Liarommatis returns for a third term as Greek Softball president

The re-elected president aims to have the Greek National Teams present in all European Softball Championships.

Kostis Liarommatis has been re-elected as president of the Greek Softball Federation. Liarommatis will serve for a third consecutive term as the top softball official in the country. The recent Greek Softball elections saw a record number of affiliated members participate.

Liarommatis said the national federation will work on three different pillars in the upcoming years: Players and coaches development; the construction of two brand new softball diamonds; and the organization of competitive softball leagues across all age categories.

With regard to the country's top prospects and talent, the re-elected president aims to have the Greek National Teams active in all European Softball Championships.

Greece is currently the 22nd ranked nation in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Rankings. The Hellenic nation finished in 7th place in the European Softball Championship 2019, and is slated to participate in this year’s European Championship in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy, from 27 June to 3 July.

Greece has participated in two WBSC Women’s Softball World Championships, earning 9th place in 2006 and 19th place in 2016. The nation took seventh place in the Athens 2004 Olympic softball event.
