Lin Chia Hsuan, Wu Yu Hsin lead Chinese Taipei over Puerto Rico

Chinese Taipei displayed some dangerous offence: 15 hits defeated Puerto Rico for the second win in the tournament. Now Chinese Taipei is back in play for a spot in the medal round

Chinese Taipei beat Puerto Rico, 9-1, and is now back in the race for a spot in the medal round.

Chinese Taipei broke the tie in the top of the first against Esperanza Coe. With two outs and two runners on, right fielder Wu Yu Hsin sent a deep fly off the wall in right field and turned it in a three-run inside the park home run.

In the top of the third, Chinese Taipei broke the score open. Catcher Lin Chia Hsuan reached on a two-out double and second baseman Yu Jia Ling followed with a base hit to left. When a pop fly by left fielder Hong Mei fell, the lead grew to 4-0. Shortstop Lin Chen Ming followed with a double to left field and made it 6-0.

Chinese Taipei starter Chen Ching Yu allowed two runners with two outs in the bottom of the third and reliever Feng Yu Hsuan got the third out to get out of the inning.

Puerto Rico put the only run on the scoreboard when Chinese Taipei had extended the lead to 9-0.
