Media accreditation open for WBSC Baseball Final Qualifier to Tokyo Olympics

All members of the media, both local/national and international, who wish to cover the WBSC Olympic qualifier must apply through the official WBSC Media Accreditation online platform at my.wbsc.org.

Following the announcement of the official schedule of the WBSC Baseball Final Qualifier for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad Tokyo 2020 -- which takes place from 22-26 June at Estadio de Béisbol Hermanos Serdán in Puebla, Mexico -- all members of the media, both local/national and international, are reminded they can apply for accreditation using the official WBSC Media Accreditation online platform at my.wbsc.org.

The deadline to register is Friday, 18 June.

Media credentials will be distributed at the Estadio de Béisbol Hermanos Serdán from 22 June.

Official Game Schedule

To check the status of your accreditation request:

  1. Go to my.wbsc site.
  2. Click on "Media Accreditations"
  3. Click on search for your accreditations
  4. Enter name, last name and email address.
  5. A list of the accreditation requests will appear.

COVID-19 Protocol for media: Holders of media accreditation will be granted access to media stands and the media centre in the ballpark.

Media interviews during the WBSC Final Baseball Qualifier will be conducted via videoconference only. Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, there will be no direct contact between media and team personnel inside the venue. The full scope of media opportunities will be communicated at a later date.

Road to Tokyo 2020

The three participating nations in the 22-26 June WBSC Baseball Final Qualifier in Puebla are world No. 8 Venezuela, No. 9 Netherlands and No. 10 Dominican Republic.

The winner of the WBSC Baseball Final Qualifier will join Israel, Japan, Korea, Mexico and USA at the six-team Tokyo 2020 Olympics baseball competition.  

GUIDELINES FOR NON-RIGHTS HOLDING (“NRH”) MEDIA

  • Coverage by Non-Rights Holding TV/RADIO and Crew
  • Only rights holders of applicable games may transmit game footage (audio and/or video) of WBSC events
  • NRH media credentials provide access to official training sessions, games, and any Opening/Closing Ceremonies. NB: Access will be granted subject to local health guidelines and regulations.
  • Credentials will be granted by specific category (i.e., Press, Photographer, Radio, and TV), and stadium access will be granted accordingly.
  • Photographers and NRH TV crew will be required to wear WBSC-issued media vests.
