Men’s Slow Pitch Softball European Championship begins in Czech Republic

Seven European teams took the field today in Choceň, Czech Republic, in the opening day of the Men’s Slow Pitch Softball European Championship. Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy and Netherlands played a doubleheader today to open the event.

Seven European teams took the field today in Choceň, Czech Republic, in the opening day of the Men’s Slow Pitch Softball European Championship. Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy and Netherlands played a doubleheader today to kick off the event.

Great Britain and Belgium remain as the only undefeated teams after day one. The British team beat the Netherlands (24-13) and Ireland (24-3); while the Belgians defeated Ireland (16-6) and earned a walkoff win over Czech Republic by a score of 20-19, in the last game of the day.

Round robin will finish on Thursday, with the four top teams advancing to the next round.

The final game is scheduled to be played on Saturday 16 June, at 19:00 p.m. local time.
