Mexican Baseball League LMB signs agreement to boost Baseball5 in schools across the nation

The new street version of baseball/softball can help the prevention of health problems that come from the lack of physical activity.

The Mexican Baseball League (Liga Mexicana de Beisbol, LMB) signed a collaboration agreement with the Alfredo Harp Helù Foundation for Sports to promote physical activity amongst students through the practice of Baseball5.

Baseball5 can be played in schools and help the prevention of health problems such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, generated by the lack of physical activity. It also encourages gender equality with an emphasis on mixed-gender teams.

"We have a lot of interest in this urban version of baseball/softball developed by WBSC," said Horacio de la Vega, LMB CEO. "Baseball5 is spreading all over the world and it will be on the programme of the next Youth Olympics."
