The First Division Baseball Championship is now down to semifinals in Nicaragua, with the following match-ups underway: Dantos-Esteli and Boer-Chinandega.

The competent Commission (Comision Nicaraguense de Béisbol Superior) decided that both the semifinals and the final will be contested with best-of-seven series. The championship series is scheduled for 2-14 August.

Three venues have been selected for the semifinals. The main will be the Dennis Martinez National Stadium in Managua. A maximum of 5,000 fans will be allowed in the 15,000 seat ballpark. The two teams on the field will have the right to 2,000 fans each, while 1,000 fans will be from the capital city.
The other two venues are the Efrain Tijerino Mazariego in Chinandega (maximum 1,570 fans allowed) and the Ruro Marin In Esteli (600)

The Commission said in a statement that "prevention and protection measures will be guaranteed to avoid the crowding of people as part of the measures against the COVID-19."

The measures include wearing a mask while at bat.
