Nicaragua First Division Baseball Championship to open on 19 February

The finalists of the 2020 campaign, Boer and Dantos, will compete in the opener of the 18-team league, which is organized by the country's Superior Baseball Commission.

Nicaragua's Superior Baseball Commission (CNBS, Comision Nicaraguense de Béisbol Superior) announced that the Germán Pomares National Baseball Championship (Campeonato Nacional de Béisbol Superior Germán Pomares) will open on Friday, 19 February.

The opening game will feature the finalists of the 2020 edition: Boer vs Dantos.

Each of the 18 participants represents one of the Regions (Departamentos) of Nicaragua. The national baseball event is the second-tier of competition in the country, below the professional Winter League (LBPN, Liga de Béisbol Profesional Nacional).

The 18 clubs will compete in a round-robin format. The top 12 will advance to the second round.
