Deir Al-Balah Baseball Academy and Gaza Baseball Academy won the Baseball5 Girls Jerusalem Cups organized by the Palestinian Baseball Softball Federation at the Al-Ahly Club. The Palestinian Olympic Committee sanctioned the tournament.
Deir Al-Balah, coached by Nora Al-Obeid and led by Captain Jaber Al-Masry, came from behind to defeat Beit Hanoun Al-Ahly, 19-6, in the final of the 16- and-older tournament.
Gaza, led by Captain Laila Khamash beat the Nusairat Baseball Academy, 18-9, in the final of the U-15 tournament.
Baseball5, the five-on-five discipline that only requires a ball to play, is helping take the game to new places. Baseball5 will be played at the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026.
