Peruvian federation to host female softball umpire workshop

The workshop will be conducted by WBSC Technical Commissioner and former umpire Roberto Manolo Perez-Leon, along with WBSC Certified umpires.

Aiming to boost gender equity in every aspect of the game, the Peruvian Softball Federation (FDPS - Federación Deportiva Peruana de Softbol) has unveiled a Female Umpire Workshop to be held remotely during the months of April and May.

The workshop, which will be conducted by WBSC Technical Commissioner and former umpire Roberto Manolo Perez-Leon, along with WBSC Certified umpires, targets women from 14 to 35 years old and will address the basic principles of softball umpiring.

The six-class workshop will begin on 18 April, closing on 23 May. All interested people should write an email to softbolperucomunicaciones@gmail.com to get more information. 

Peru, currently ranked 19th in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Rankings, will host the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup from 28 August to 5 September, with the top players from 16 nations battling for the title of world champion.
