Premier12 2019 MVP Seiya Suzuki expresses strong desire to play in the Olympics
Seiya Suzuki, the MVP of the WBSC Premier12 2019, expressed his desire to compete in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.
The slugging outfielder spoke candidly about his wish in various interviews after he took the field for some indoor practice with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).

"The players don't have control over the decision, but I do hope the Olympics take their regular place this summer. Competing for Japan in the Games is something I really want to do."
Suzuki was born in 1994 and has played for Hiroshima since 2013. He appeared in 118 games during the 2020 season. He had a .300 batting average and hit 25 home runs.
Suzuki went 12 for 27 at the WBSC Premier12 2019, with 3 home runs and 13 RBIs.
He had previously represented Japan internationally at the WBSC U-21 Baseball World Cup 2014.
