Premier12 alumn Darryl George blasts record 2 grand slams, 10 RBI in a single ABL game

He went 4-for-7 with two grand slams and 10 RBIs. The Australian Baseball League is live on the WBSC YouTube channel.

Darryl George, the national team third baseman for Australia at the WBSC Premier12 2019, set an Australian Baseball League (ABL) single-game record with two grand slams and 10 RBIs. His performance helped the Melbourne Aces defeat the Brisbane Bandits 22-2 on Saturday, 30 January.

George eclipsed an eight-RBI record shared by former teammate Luke Hughes and Adelaide import Denny Almonte.

According to ABL website, the 22 runs were Melbourne's franchise record, topping the 20 they scored against Camberra on 20 December 2010.

Melbourne is on top of the ABL standings with a 17-7 record, as the Perth Heat (12-9) and the Adelaide Giants (12-10) are next in line. The Canberra Cavalry (9-12) are in fourth-place, followed by the Sydney Blue Sox (4-6) and Brisbane Bandits (6-16).

The final day of the regular season is scheduled for Sunday, 7 February.
