Press Conference in Chihuahua kicks off 15U Event

The first edition of IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship will start August 16 in three cities of Chihuahua state, Cuauhtemoc, Parral and Chihuahua. 16 teams across the world will gather in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico to compete for the title of world championship from August 16-26.

The first edition of IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship will start August 16 in three cities of Chihuahua state, Cuauhtemoc, Parral and Chihuahua. 16 teams across the world will gather in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico to compete for the title of world championship from August 16-26.

The top two teams from each of the first round groups will advance to the second round where they will play 4 games against teams from other groups. Final game will be played between two top finishers after the second round on the August 26 in Estadio Monumental Chihuahua.

On the eve of the 15U Baseball World Championship opening, technical organizational meetings were held to address technical rules for the championship and the representatives of the competing teams had a chance to have dialogue with tournament officials in person.

Following the technical meeting, a press conference was organized with local Mexican media, and the support of Chihuahua state government was once again pledged for the success of the championship.

Present at the press conference were Lic. Luis Alfonso Rivera Campos, Director of the Chihuahua Sports and Physical Culture Institute, Luis Holguin Lerma, Director of Sports Institute of Chihuahua city as well as IBAF Representatives Mitsuyoshi Sato, Technical Director for the 15U Baseball World Championship, and Masaru Yokoo IBAF Tournament Manager.
