Punjab wins Pakistan Championship of Baseball for the Blind

Baseball for the Blind has been introduced to Pakistan in 2016 thanks to a clinic held by Sarwar Ghulam, the Pakistani born star of the Italian League. Pakistan players also travelled to Brescia, Italy, to get more instruction

Punjab claimed the first Pakistan National Championship of Baseball for the Blind. Sindh finished second and Balochistan ended in third place. The five-team tournament was played between Monday, 25, and Thursday, 28 March. It was organized by the Blind Baseball Association of Pakistan with the collaboration of Muhammad Bin Qasim Blind Welfare Complex and of the District Administration of Multan.

Punjab went undefeated as they beat K.P, 10-5; Sindh, 10-5; Islamabad, 8-6; Baluchistan 13-8

The Pakistani born star of Leonessa Brescia, Italian League, Sarwar Ghulan introduced Baseball for the Blind to Pakistan in 2016 with a clinic. A team of Pakistan players also travelled to Italy to get more instruction.

Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, who is the President of both the Pakistan Baseball Federation and of the Pakistan Blind Baseball Association, was the main guest at the closing ceremony.
