Rain causes Schedule Changes at Women’s Baseball World Cup

Edmonton (Canada). After the weather played along at the first four days of the V IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup, rain is causing some scheduling changes for the reminder of the first round. Game #17 Australia vs. Venezuela and game #18 Cuba vs. USA, which were supposed to be played on Tuesday, August 14 were canceled due to rain.

Edmonton (Canada). After the weather played along at the first four days of the V IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup, rain is causing some scheduling changes for the reminder of the first round. Game #17 Australia vs. Venezuela and game #18 Cuba vs. USA, which were supposed to be played on Tuesday, August 14 were canceled due to rain.

Additionally the starting times for the other two games on Tuesday, August 14 were moved back. Game #19 Japan vs. Chinese Taipei is scheduled to start at 17:00 instead of 15:00, while game #20 Netherlands vs. Canada moved from 19:30 to 20:00. However due to the uncertain weather conditions in Edmonton there might be other changes.

The two rained out games from Tuesday will be made up on Wednesday, August 15. Originally a rest day, the action will start at 10:00 with the contest between Venezuela and Japan (moved from August 10) at Telus Field. Afterwards at 13:00 Australia will play against Venezuela (moved from August 14) also on Telus Field, while Cuba takes on the United States at 13:00 (moved from August 14) at John Fry Park.

If more games on Tuesday, August 14 will be rained out, they would be made up on Wednesday, August 15 in the afternoon and evening at Telus Field.
