Ramon Padilla named manager of Nicaragua U-18 Baseball National Team

The former slugger will lead the World number 15 during WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Gijang City, Korea. The National Baseball Federation also named Sandor Guido the skipper of the U-23 National Team

The Baseball Federation of Nicaragua (FENIBA, Federacion Nicaraguense de Beisbol Asociada) named Ramon Padilla the manager of the U-18 National Team. He will lead Nicaragua to the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, to be played in Gijang City, Korea, from 30 August to 8 September.

World number 15 Nicaragua will play in group A.

Jose Ramon Padilla Sequeira was born in 1966 in Rivas, Nicaragua. His playing career ended after the 2008 season. He is the fourth all-time home run hitter in the domestic league of Nicaragua with 217. He represented his Country internationally in the IBAF World Cup, Intercontinental Cup and in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

In December 2018 Padilla managed Rivas undefeated to the Nicaragua U-18 National title.

FENIBA also announced that Sandor Guido will manage the U-23 National Team in the World Cup Qualifier, to be played in Panama in September.

Sandor Jose Guido Mayorga was born in 1978 in Leon, Nicaragua. A left-handed pitcher, he represented his Country in three different IBAF World Cups: 2001, 2003 and 2005.
He managed Leon to win the title of the Professional Baseball League of Nicaragua (LBPN, Liga de Beisbol Profesional de Nicaragua) and was part of the coaching staff of Panama’s Toros de Herrera, the champions of the Caribbean World Series.
