Schedule Changes for upcoming V Women’s Baseball World Cup

The V IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup is scheduled to commence on Friday, August 10 in Edmonton, Canada. Eight teams will battle for the championship trophy. The International Baseball Federation is announcing slight schedule changes before the start of the tournament.

Due to the delayed arrival of Team Venezuela because of visa problems, their opening match against Japan at Telus Field will be re-scheduled from Friday, August 10, 3pm to Wednesday, August 15, 11am. Venezuela now is expected to enter the competition on Saturday, August 11 against host Canada.

There are additional changes to the original schedule. Game #2 between Cuba and Australia on Friday, August 10 will be moved from John Fry Park to Telus Field and from 2 to 3pm local time. On Saturday all four games will be played at Telus Field. At 10am in game #5 Chinese Taipei faces Cuba, at 1.30pm in game #6 the Netherlands take on Japan, at 4.30pm in game #7 Australia plays against the United States and at 8pm in game #8 Venezuela squares off with Canada.

A total of 36 games will be played at the V Women’s Baseball World Cup in Edmonton, Canada. Nine of them will be streamed live on YouTube, produced by a broadcasting team of the Japan Girls Professional Baseball League.
