Softball Asia and KBSA organize an umpire seminar in Busan, Korea

Softball Asia in collaboration with the Korea Baseball Softball Association (KBSA) organized a Seminar for Softball Umpires in Busan, Korea.

Sally Lim, Secretary General of Softball Asia, and Woo Jisuk of KBSA are coordinating the course. Harushi Goto and Paulo Tabirara of Softball Asia are the instructors.

The activity is divided into two different parts. Theory classes, that include practical drills, began at the Dongbusan Hotel on Saturday, 23 March and will be over by Wednesday, 27 March with a written test. The 16 participating umpires (2 women and 14 men) will then take the field from Thursday 28 to Sunday 31 March and umpire games. At the end of the seminar, the participants will be certified international umpires.

KBSA Softball Division Vice President Kim Eun Young and KBSA Softball Manager Choi Li Hwan were on the field on Saturday 23 March.

Busan hosted the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup 2016 and nearby Gijang City will host the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2019.
