Softball Asia appoints Dr. Yang Xu as WBSC Softball Continental Vice President for Asia

Yang Xu will succeed the late Hiromi Tokuda as WBSC Softball Continental Vice-President for Asia and will complete his four-year tenure.

Softball Asia announced today the appointment of Dr. Yang Xu as WBSC Softball Continental Vice President for Asia. Xu was first nominated for the position at the Softball Asia (SA) Executive Council (EXCO) Meeting held online on 16 November, and confirmed on Tuesday at the Softball Asia Extraordinary Congress.

The Chinese softball leader will take over as Softball Asia representative in future WBSC Softball Division Board/WBSC Combined Boards Meeting.

Xu has been President of the Chinese Softball Association since 2018, and previously was Secretary General of his national federation. He also served as Softball Asia Vice President from 2014 to 2018. 

He succeeds the late Hiromi Tokuda at the WBSC Softball Division Board and will complete his four-year tenure. Mr. Tokuda, who passed away this past October at 72, had been elected as WBSC Softball Continental Vice-President for Asia in 2017.
