Softball Australia inks deal with Fox Sports to showcase men’s, women’s 2021 competitions

In addition, Softball Australia confirmed the dates for the Australia Pacific Cup and the Summer Slam - Fully Loaded Softball - both for men and women.

Softball Australia announced that Fox Sports Australia will once again showcase some of the best softballers in the world through the broadcast of seven days of men’s and women’s competition, including the Australia Pacific Cup, and the Men’s and Women’s Summer Slam – Fully Loaded Softball in 2021.

The Women's Summer Slam – Fully Loaded Softball event will run over the weekend from 5-7 March while the Australia Pacific Cup will open on International Women’s Day, Monday, 8 March. The event will run until 11 March with Fox Sports Australia’s broadcasting across two event days.

The Aussie Spirit will use the platform to prepare for the re-scheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

After two successful iterations of the Summer Slam - Fully Loaded Softball, featuring some of Australia's top female softballers, the federation will showcase men’s softball using the shortened format of the game through a live broadcast from 13-14 March 2021.

Australia, one of the six qualified nations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games softball competition, is currently ranked No. 8 in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Rankings. The Australian men’s side is ranked 5th in the world.
