Softball Peru launches new website
07/09/2020
Peru, ranked No. 19 in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Ranking, unveiled today the organisation’s re-designed webpage.

Softball Peru has launched the national governing body's new website at https://softbolperu.org, which features a complete re-design and modern look. The new digital platform includes the history of softball in the South American country, institutional information, documents, affiliated clubs and a calendar with the softball activities in the country.

The new website comes as the Peruvian national softball teams have surpassed key growth targets, including participating in three world cups. The country played in its first-ever Softball World Championship in 2016, at the Women's global tournament in Surrey, Canada, finishing in 21st place. In 2017, Peru played in the WBSC Junior Women’s Softball World Championship in Clearwater, USA, finishing in 19th place. In their most recent appearance on the global stage, the South American nation also participated in the inaugural WBSC U-12 Softball World Cup last year, earning the silver medal.

Peru has been awarded the hosting rights of the first-ever U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup. The tournament was set to be held this year at Lima's Villa María del Triunfo Complex, which successfully hosted the the 2019 Pan American Games softball competitions, but the event has since been postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
