Sold out! WBSC Premier12 tickets for Chinese Taipei vs Japan gone in less than 30 minutes

Tickets for the 2019 WBSC Premier12® opening round match-up between rivals Chinese Taipei and Japan at the 20,000-seat Taichung International Stadium on 7 November took less than 30 minutes to be officially sold out.

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Tickets for the 2019 WBSC Premier12® opening round match-up between rivals Chinese Taipei and Japan at the 20,000-seat Taichung International Stadium on 7 November took less than 30 minutes to be officially sold out.

Tickets went on sale yesterday (Friday, 13 September) for the Taiwan Group B round, which features two Asian powerhouses and two Americas powerhouses: world No. 1 Japan, No. 4 Chinese Taipei, No. 9 Venezuela and No. 11 Puerto Rico.

It is expected that all Chinese Taipei’s games will be sold out, as excitement and fan-engagement continue to build following Chinese Taipei’s recent wins of the U-12 Baseball World Cup and U-18 Baseball World Cup.

In 2015, the inaugural WBSC Premier12 generated the highest TV ratings of any sports programme shown in Taiwan, where baseball is the top spectator sport.

The most important international baseball competition in recent history, the flagship WBSC Premier12 will award two tickets to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, in addition to $5.2 million USD in prize money.
