Tokyo 2020 unveils “One minute, One sport” Olympic softball promo video

The “One Minute, One Sport” videos aim to introduce the basics of the various Olympic sports/events to fans not familiar with each discipline.

As part of a video series called “One Minute, One Sport”, the hosts of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games have released a promo video showcasing softball rules and highlights, with pictures of the top Olympic players in history. Softball will make its historic Olympic return at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

The Olympic hosts on Twitter said: “Softball can be a demanding sport both mentally and physically and we can’t wait for its return at Tokyo 2020.”

The “One Minute, One Sport” videos aim to introduce the basics of the Olympic sports to those fans not familiar with each discipline. Combining entertaining cartoons with pictures of Olympic players, the softball video spotlights the most attractive elements of the sport like the specifics of softball pitching and the speed and the emotions of the game.

Baseball and softball will return to the Olympic Games in July 2021, following the rescheduling of the Tokyo 2020 Games in response to the coronavirus global outbreak.

The six-team softball Olympic competition will include the three-time gold medallist and world No. 1 USA; the defending gold medallist, host and No. 2 Japan; No. 3 Canada; No. 5 Mexico; No. 8 Australia and No. 10 Italy.

Under the same concept, in December 2019 Tokyo 2020 unveiled the baseball version of “One minute, One Sport”.
