Like Pakistan, Sri Lanka also made a fine start into the 10th West Asia Baseball Cup. Registering a 15-0 win over the Islamic Republic of Iran in their opening match at Punjab Stadium here on Sunday.

Like Pakistan, Sri Lanka also made a fine start into the 10th West Asia Baseball Cup. Registering a 15-0 win over the Islamic Republic of Iran in their opening match at Punjab Stadium here on Sunday.

Sri Lankan batters were in mid-season form collecting 9 runs in the 1st inning to make a blazing start. Kosala and Nero Shan contributed 2 runs each while Dampi Sameera, Shalitha, Nelanka and Fupun made 1 run each. No run was made in the 2nd inning. However Sri Lanka again was on the attack in the 3rd inning earning 3 more runs by Kosala , Dampi and Sameera to consolidate the lead. No run was made in the 4th inning. In the 5th inning Sri Lanka made the tally as Dampi,Sameera and Nelanka added 1 run each.

Today’s Chief guest was Syed Shahid Ali Shah the Member of International Olympic Committee (Pakistan)/The President of Punjab Olympic Association. President  Pakistan Federation Baseball Mr Shaukat Javed, Mr Khawar Shah Secretary General of Pakistan Federation Baseball, Mohsin Khan the Vice President of Pakistan Federation Baseball, Haider Khan Lahri Secretary  General Softball  Federation of Pakistan , Mr Asif Iqbal Director Development Pakistan Federation Baseball and Syed Fakhar Ali Shah Executive Director Welcomed the Chief Guest.

On Monday Sri Lanka will face Afghanistan. Syed Aqil Ali Shah Vice President Pakistan Olympic Association / the Minister Sports of KPK will be the Chief Guest. Match will start on 2:00pm sharp.
