The semifinals of the top baseball league in Switzerland (NLA National Liga A) will take place this weekend after a 20-game regular season that opened on 13 June.
The Bern Cardinals and the Therwil Flyers finished tied in first place with 15 wins and 5 losses. The two teams from Zurich - the Challengers and the Barracudas - followed to earn the other two playoff spots. The Barracudas finished third with a 14-6 record, while the Challengers clinched fourth place with a 11-9 record.
The other two participants combined for three wins. The Wil Pirates finished with two wins, while the Luzern Eagles earned one.
The semifinals will be best of five series and they are set to open on Saturday, 22 August before finishing the following day.
