Switzerland wins Women’s Softball Panthers Cup

The four-team tournament was the first ever international softball competition organized in Switzerland. The hosts defeated Poland in the final. U-22 Switzerland beat Austria’s Dornbirn Sharx and claimed third place

Switzerland won the first edition of the women’s softball Panthers Cup. The first-ever international softball tournament organized in the country was played on the new softball field in Wittenbach, in the Canton of St. Gallen.

Switzerland defeated in the final the National Team of Poland, 7-1. The whole game is available on YouTube on demand.

Despite beating the elite National Team in round-robin play, U-22 Switzerland had to settle for the third-place game. Austria’s Dornbirn Sharx defeated U-22 Switzerland and claimed third place.

The Panthers Cup was organized by the Swiss Baseball and Softball Federation together with the Wittenbach Panthers. The tournament was an overall success and the organizers are already working on a second edition.
