The Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) was the first professional baseball league this year to start its season, when opening day took place in April. And with CPBL's announcement today (Friday, 24 July) that clubs can now fill the stands up to 70% of stadium capacity, another major milestone towards normalcy has been passed.

CPBL opened in mid-April behind closed doors. The clubs were allowed to admit 1,000 fans on 8 May, then 2,000 fans on 15 May. On 15 May, ballparks also opened concession stands. On 7 June, the 2,000-fan limit was removed.

The CTBC Brothers won the first half of the season and earned the first playoff spot.
