The new president of KBA met with Riccardo Fraccari

The newly elected president of the Korea Baseball Association (KBA) Mr. Lee, Byung-Suk met IBAF President Riccardo Fraccari at the Italian Olympic Committee headquarters, near the famed Foro Italico in Rome.

The newly elected president of the Korea Baseball Association (KBA) Mr. Lee, Byung-Suk met IBAF President Riccardo Fraccari at the Italian Olympic Committee headquarters, near the famed Foro Italico in Rome.

President Lee, who was voted into office on February 1st, opened talks reconfirming his National Federation’s ongoing commitment to the vision of the IBAF.

President Fraccari underlined that Korea and all of Asia have played a key role in developing and popularizing baseball worldwide, while suggesting that leaders in this region must accept: “The responsibilities and duties that come when obtaining global influence”.

The Korean baseball head, who is also a Member of the Parliament in his home country, communicated his full support in immediately getting to work with his network: “So that men’s baseball and women’s softball earn a place in the Olympics in 2020“.

Talks on how to meet the growing demands of female athletes also took place, with President Fraccari suggesting that Asia could host more events tailored for women.

Mr Woo Sun Hee, himself a member of the Parliament in Korea, served as the intepreter during the meeting. The Korean Delegation was formed by a total 7 members.
