Tigres take lead in Nicaragua Pro League championship series; games streamed via WBSC's GameTime platform

All of the games of the seven-game series are being live-streamed at GameTime.sport.

The Tigres de Chinandega beat Gigantes de Rivas, 12-4, in Game One of the Nicaraguan Professional Baseball League (LBPN, Liga de Béisbol Profesional Nacional) played at the Estadio Yamil Rios Ugarte in Rivas.

Starting pitcher Alexander Santana, an import player from the Dominican Republic, went six innings for the Tigres, limiting the Gigantes to one hit.

The Tigres got to left-handed starter Leonardo Crawford in the fourth with a home run by Ismael Munguia, the first of the season allowed by Crawford. Chinandega broke the score open in the sixth against Crawford and reliever Carlos Teller.

Game two of the best-of-seven series is scheduled for 13 January at 6 pm local time in Rivas. The series will then move to Estadio Frain Tijerino Mazariego in Chinandega for games three (15 January at 6 pm), four (16 January at 4 pm) and five (17 January at 4 pm). If needed, the series will go back to Rivas for game six (19 January at 6 pm) and seven (20 January at 6 pm).
