Australia’s hopes for a spot in the medal round suffered a big blow in the first game of the day. Starter Yeraldine Carrion struck out 16 to lead Mexico to a 5-1 win over the Aussie.
Mexico outhit Australia. Third baseman Alyssa Hernandes (3 for 3) and catcher Quinn Deavila (2 for 3) both enjoyed multi-hit games.

Japan added one win to this U-19 campaign as they defeated China, 6-1.
Japan wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard against China’s starter Liu Jingya. Left fielder Chiharu Shiraishi singled in the first to put Japan ahead and China never had a real chance for a comeback against Mio Sakamoto, who allowed only three hits over six innings of work.
Designated player Miu Goto had a three-hit game.

Chinese Taipei beat Puerto Rico, 9-1, and is now back in the race for a spot in the medal round.
Chinese Taipei offence impressed with 15 hits, with Lin Chia Hsuan starring at 3 for 4.
Chinese Taipei broke the tie in the top of the when right fielder Wu Yu Hsin sent a deep fly off the wall in right field and turned it in a three-run inside the park home run.

Japan beat Canada, 7-0 in five innings, to remain undefeated and come one step closer to competing in the World Championship game on Saturday.
Japan scored two in the first at-bat against Samantha Ryan. Miu Goto batted in one of the runs and took then care of Canada’s line. She allowed only two hits over five innings of work and earned the win.

For the first time in the U-19 Women’s Softball World Cup 2019 the USA had to play the whole game. This didn’t change the outcome of the night, since the defending World Champions beat Puerto Rico, 6-0, to remain undefeated. Second baseman Charla Echols had a three-RBI night.
